Light Equipment Operator I

Job Description

Audubon is currently seeking a Light Equipment Operator I to join our team in our Off Site Office. The Light Equipment Operator I will perform the movement of Earth and debris for a jobsite via the usage of light equipment.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must have experience and knowledge of operating varies construction light equipment including but not limited to bobcats, bulldozers, excavators, front-end loaders, backhoes, rollers, RT forklift, and graders.
  • Must have basic mechanical knowledge and illustrate the abilities to inspect equipment.
  • Must have knowledge of and be familiar with soil types.
  • Must illustrate knowledge of excavating and the specifications that are required for a given excavation.
  • Must be able to follow instructions correctly.
  • Must be reliable, accountable, and consistent in performing administrative processes such as but not limited to equipment inspection paperwork. 
  • Must be willing and able to follow all instructed safety regulations.
  • Must be able to make it work on time and work the designated schedule and any overtime as needed with the proper notification. 
  • Must be able to use Bob cats, bulldozers, excavators, front end loaders, and backhoes. 

Health, Safety, and Environmental Responsibilities:

  • All employees are responsible for supporting Audubon Companies’ Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures. This includes:
  • Performing duties in a manner that protects personal and team health and safety
  • Participating in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting activities
  • Identifying and reporting hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions
  • Following safe work practices and complying with applicable regulatory requirements

 

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED). 
  • Related trade school education is preferred. 
  • Five years' experience in the construction industry. 
  • Five years' experience as a equipment operator. 
  • Must have or be able to obtain OSHA Construction Basic Plus Safety Training Card. 
  • Civil construction and quality assurance practices and procedures. 
  • Construction safety practices. 
  • Proven experience as civil construction carpenter. 
  • In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and HSE guidelines. 
  • Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints. 
  • Excellent organizational skills. 
  • Ability to communicate and report effectively. 
  • Aptitude in math and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions. 
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently when required. 
  • Ability to motivate, lead, teach and train on proper work and safety procedures. 
  • Ability to think analytically, apply sound judgment, and solve problems. 
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing. Individuals must have a valid driver's license and driving record that meets Company requirements.
