Summary:
Responsibilities:
Security Engineers play a critical role in protecting the company’s digital and operational environments, including manufacturing systems, research platforms, and business infrastructure. They are responsible for identifying and addressing security risks, responding to incidents, and implementing technical controls that safeguard sensitive data, proprietary processes, and critical systems. Working closely with IT, engineering, and operations teams, they ensure security is integrated into both traditional information systems and specialized production technologies. Security Engineers help maintain compliance with relevant industry and regulatory standards while continuously improving the organization’s security posture. This role supports both daily operations and long-term security strategies that enable safe innovation and production within the company.

Security Engineer I
- Monitor and respond to day-to-day security alerts, helping identify unusual behavior or potential threats across user accounts, systems, or networks.
- Assist with regular system reviews to ensure computers, mobile devices, and network equipment follow company security policies.
- Support efforts to apply software and system updates, helping protect against known security issues.
- Document security activities, including incident details, audit findings, or device configurations, ensuring clear records for future reference.
- Participate in system access reviews, checking that employees and contractors have appropriate permissions for their roles.
- Observe security practices within operational areas such as labs, cleanrooms, and chemical processing environments to understand how physical and digital systems intersect.
- Learn about industry-specific risks, such as the protection of proprietary formulas, manufacturing data, or sensitive research.

Security Engineer II
- Same duties as Security Engineer I.
- Additional duties as Security Engineer II:
- Investigate and resolve more complex security incidents, working with IT and operational teams to identify causes and prevent recurrence.
- Conduct regular reviews of network activity and system logs, looking for signs of unauthorized access, data loss, or policy violations.
- Contribute to the design and enforcement of security standards, applying them across office systems, production environments, and cloud-based tools.
- Collaborate with system administrators and engineers to ensure secure system configurations and access controls.
- Participate in equipment and software reviews, ensuring any new tools used in manufacturing or R&D meet security and compliance requirements.
- Assist in reviewing third-party vendors and partners, identifying potential risks in data sharing or system integration.
- Support employee awareness programs, helping to train staff on phishing prevention, password hygiene, and handling sensitive information.

Security Engineer III
- Same duties as Security Engineer II.
- Additional duties as Security Engineer III:
- Lead investigations into high-priority security incidents involving business-critical systems, production environments, or sensitive research areas.
- Design and implement controls to protect confidential data, intellectual property, and production technology across both IT and operational systems.
- Work closely with R&D, operations, and facilities teams to integrate cybersecurity considerations into new projects, lab setups, or production line expansions.
- Evaluate proposed business and technical changes, such as new system rollouts or vendor integrations, identifying and addressing security risks.
- Develop detailed security documentation, including risk assessments, technical procedures, and user guidelines tailored for manufacturing or research users.
- Lead internal security reviews, analyze the effectiveness of existing security measures, and recommend improvements.
- Serve as a technical mentor, guiding junior team members and promoting good security practices across departments.
Education & Credentials:
- Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or related field and 4+ years of related experience or
- Master’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or related field and 2+ years of related experience or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
