Linklaters is a people business. Being best in class in the eyes of our clients means that our people must be exceptional.
We look not only for brilliant minds, but for people who will thrive in our environment: people who love working collaboratively and demonstrate the innovative, efficient, agile, entrepreneurial, and responsible mind-set we aim to bring to every interaction.
Ours is an environment of outperformance. We achieve this not with targets and incentives, but by fostering a positive, supportive, fair and open atmosphere.
We respect and value difference but insist on inclusivity. We celebrate all aspects of diversity and challenge any form of bias. This is vital to our ability to work as one team, with a common goal.
The role:
We are looking for a Global Pricing Manager to strengthen our capability in pricing complex, high-value legal matters, including those involving technology and GenAI-assisted delivery.
In this role, you will act as a recognised expert in complex matter pricing, advising partners and senior stakeholders on commercial strategy, financial modelling, and innovative fee arrangements. You will play a key role in shaping pricing approaches for multi-jurisdictional and strategically important matters, ensuring alignment between client expectations, risk management, and firm profitability.
You will contribute to the development and embedding of advanced pricing capabilities across the firm, including alternative fee arrangements (AFAs), value-based pricing models, and evolving delivery approaches driven by technology.
Working within a global, multi-disciplinary environment, you will collaborate closely with partners, finance, legal project management and legal tech teams, driving best practice, innovation, and continuous improvement in pricing processes and governance.
Your key responsibilities:
· Support the development and implementation of pricing strategies for complex, multi-jurisdictional matters, ensuring alignment with commercial and profitability objectives
· Advise partners and stakeholders on pricing approaches, including financial modelling, scenario analysis, fee structuring and negotiation strategy
· Lead the preparation of commercial proposals, including bespoke modelling for RFPs, bids and negotiations, ensuring accuracy under pressure
· Project manage the financial aspects of major proposals, ensuring timely delivery and effective stakeholder coordination
· Drive the adoption and optimisation of alternative fee arrangements (AFAs) and innovative pricing models
· Oversee and support the approval of fee proposals through internal governance processes and committees
· Develop and maintain standardised pricing models, tools and playbooks to improve efficiency and consistency
· Deliver actionable insights on pricing trends, risk and profitability through reporting and data analysis
· Monitor market developments, including technology and GenAI trends, to continuously evolve pricing strategies
· Provide training and guidance to lawyers and business teams to strengthen pricing capability across the firm
· Contribute to knowledge sharing, thought leadership and continuous improvement within the global pricing team
What we’re looking for:
· Significant experience in a pricing, finance or commercial role within a global professional services or corporate environment
· Strong expertise in financial modelling, data analysis and commercial decision-making
· Demonstrated experience in complex pricing scenarios, negotiations and multi-stakeholder environments
· Ability to influence senior stakeholders, including partners, with confidence and credibility
· Strong understanding of different fee arrangements (including AFAs and value-based pricing models)
· Excellent communication and presentation skills in business English
· High level of commercial acumen and the ability to translate complexity into clear, practical recommendations
· Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
· Advanced skills in financial systems and analytics tools (e.g. Excel; experience with SAP or Tableau is advantageous)
· A collaborative mindset with a proactive, flexible and solution-oriented approach
What’s on offer:
