Job Description

Minimum Qualifications
All applicants must possess a valid PA teaching certificate in the area of Elementary Education with a special interest in the area mathematics; knowledge and understanding of best instructional practices; ability to engage students actively in the learning process; and interact effectively with students, staff and parents; excellent oral and written communication, organizational and computer skills; and a desire to work in an urban school district is preferred. 

Purpose of Position
The math interventionist is a key member of the instructional support team, delivering targeted, evidence-based mathematics interventions to accelerate student learning and support grade-level achievement. This role involves analyzing student data, monitoring progress, and assisting with the administration and review of district assessments to inform instructional decisions. In collaboration with teachers, instructional staff, and administrators, the interventionist supports the implementation of effective math practices and helps identify professional learning needs based on data trends. The majority of time is dedicated to planning and providing strategic, data-driven instruction in small groups.
