Job Description
EXPERIENCED POLICE OFFICERS (EPO)
EPO candidates must be currently certified by the Maryland Police & Correctional Training Commission and have completed at least one (1) year as a full-time Police Officer in the State of Maryland. (Following any probationary period)
- Currently certified as a Police Officer in the State of Maryland with a minimum of 12 months patrol experience. Past or current experience must be in the following activities: Enforcing state and local criminal laws and ordinances; Enforcing state and local traffic laws and ordinances. Making physical arrests; Investigating traffic accidents; Operating and emergency vehicle; Responding to calls for service involving conflict management/mediation.
- U.S. Citizen
- High School graduate; (60+ college credit hours preferred)
- 21 years old at time of graduation from the Police Academy (20 years and 6 months old at time of application)
- Possess a valid driver's license and at least 6 months driving experience
- Pass all of the qualification factors listed in the Additional Information.
