Job Summary:
As a Facility Services Regional Technician, you’ll play a key role in keeping facilities safe, functional, and looking their best. From handling service requests and preventative maintenance to assisting with repairs and upgrades, your work will make a visible difference every day. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in craftsmanship, and is eager to keep learning new skills through on-the-job experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform rough and finish carpentry, including framing, drywall, sheetrock finishing, and trim work.
- Install cabinets, doors, hardware, flooring, tile, carpet, and ceilings.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain fixtures, doors, windows, and building systems.
- Complete painting and other interior finish upgrades.
- Accurately lay out work, follow project plans, and maintain records.
- Operate tools safely and uphold OSHA and company safety standards.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3+ in commercial construction or residential remodeling required.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Proficiency in rough and finish carpentry, drywall, and sheetrock finishing.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
- Skilled in accurate measurement and layout.
- Safe operation of hand and power tools.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Supply own tools – required list available upon request (power tools and specialty tools provided by Hutton)
- Possess a valid unrestricted Driver’s License.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Experience with painting, flooring, and ceiling installation/repair (drop ceilings a plus).
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance and building inspections.
Work Environment:
- Work both indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
- Perform tasks in diverse settings, including schools, hospitals, and private businesses.
- Travel regionally to project sites, typically on a daily or weekly basis; occasional overnight stays (2–4 nights per week) may be required.
- Adapt to varying building types and work environments.
- Be available for occasional night or weekend work, scheduled in advance.
- Participate in an on-call rotation (approximately 2–3 weeks per year, one week at a time).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to do the following, with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Lift, push or pull materials weighing up to 80 lbs. (25 lbs. consistently)
- Walk, bend, twist, turn, stoop, kneel, crawl, climb and squat in cramped or awkward positions on a frequent basis.
- Climb to unlimited heights on ladders or scaffolds.
- Operate machinery that vibrates (drills, sanders, jackhammers, etc.) on a repetitive basis.
- Perform tasks that require gross and fine hand motions and coordination.
- Perform tasks that require clear and sharp vision.
