Compensation: $14.00 - $16.00 / hour
Description
We’re currently seeking a Full-Time Kennel Technician to join our dedicated team. This role is vital to the success of our hospital and ensures every pet in our care receives daily love, attention, and the highest level of support throughout their stay.
Key Responsibilities
- Feed, water, and monitor pets' health and behavior during their stay
- Provide individualized attention, companionship, and play/exercise sessions
- Administer medications as instructed by the veterinary team
- Ensure all pets are calm, safe, and stress-free
- Clean, sanitize, and maintain kennels, play areas, and food/water bowls
- Support hospital cleanliness through laundry, trash, mopping, and sweeping
- Promptly report any unusual behaviors, signs of illness, or maintenance concerns
- Assist with pet check-ins/check-outs
- Provide pet parents with updates and ensure their instructions are followed
- Deliver friendly, professional communication at all times
- Supervise pets during playtime and walks
- Ensure secure handling and kennel safety for all animals
- Quickly report any injuries, illness, or concerning behavior
- Work side-by-side with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff
- Assist in training new kennel team members
- Contribute to daily hospital operations including supply stocking and administrative tasks
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Must be 18 years or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Available to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts
- Passion for animals and a commitment to compassionate care
- Physically active: able to lift up to 40 lbs, walk dogs, and stand for long periods
- Attention to detail and ability to follow health and safety protocols
- Reliable, punctual, and a team-oriented attitude
- Prior experience is a plus, but we’re happy to train enthusiastic and motivated individuals!
