Job Description:
Summary
The Shop Maintenance Supervisor oversees all maintenance activities for frac equipment, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation of pumps, blenders, hydration units, data vans, sand equipment, and support vehicles. This role manages shop personnel, prioritizes work orders, enforces maintenance standards, and ensures compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Responsibilities
Engage actively in a team environment, bring a positive attitude, maintain personal accountability, and provide mentoring and coaching for team member development
Promote safety rules and regulations as well as environmental compliance
Addresses minor and major discipline problems with employees when needed
Coordinates with HR rep on coaching sessions or any disciplinary action for employees
Oversees the evaluation process of shop mechanics assigned to their crew objectively
Provide support and advice during staff recruitment to ensure proper onboarding and training process
Handles interviews with potential candidates
Work closely with vendors, outsourced service providers, and contractors to protect the interests of the company
Recommend budget items, contributing to the development of an annual maintenance budget
Recommend upgrades, overhauls, and other changes to major systems and equipment
Actively discuss staff related challenges with senior management
Participates in special projects regarding changes to equipment
Oversees employee time on Workday
Actively coordinates with warehouse on parts and materials availability
Occasionally inspect the quality of performed maintenance work
Will be final decision on setting up any outside OEM based training
Other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
Will work with and mentor less experienced mechanics, lead mechanics, and team supervisors
Expected to maintain the standard for work practices, repair times, and safety-first culture
Oversee and mentor team supervisors on expectations for dept expectations, organization, and future goals
Working with different dept supervisors on achieving company goals and projects
Follows detailed instructions from written procedures established in the employee handbook.
Able to make decisions based on work priority and parts availability
Stops work due to unsafe conditions or situations.
Will have final decision on big expenses on parts
Primary contact is shop maintenance manager
Actively communicates with members of other departments
Qualifications
High school education or equivalent.
Technical associate degree preferred.
Advanced knowledge of frac equipment repairs and functions.
Intricate knowledge of parts inventory processes.
CAT certification courses (tier II engine, electrical, tier IV)
Air brake certified
Accurate knowledge of contents within the Employee Handbook
6+ years’ experience maintaining and repairing mechanical aspect of frac equipment, or equivalent required.
Associate degree or higher in relevant field may be considered in lieu of one year of experience
Advanced computer skills.
Able to compose, send, and read emails in English
Able to navigate and use Microsoft Office programs
