Certified Surgical Technologist- Birth Center

Handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. The Birth Center Tech is a role that combines requirements of a certified surgical technician (CST) and a patient care assistant (PCA) when not in obstetric surgical cases. When functioning as the CST, the role requires handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. The PCA role assists nursing and maintains Olmsted Medical Center’s service and performance. This position supports nursing staff in the delivery of patient care services and is under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). This role is also responsible for floating to other care areas as the house census requires.
