GENERAL FUNCTION:

This position is focused on the ensuring the portfolio of financial activities and deliverables for an IT related set of teams are completed effectively and on time. The incumbent is responsible for supporting and enhancing processes, governance and tools used to plan, create, assess, balance, and provide transparency into the department’s portfolio as it relates to the budget, forecast, and resource management of a set of teams. The ability to drive analysis on resource capacity and project demand is key, as is the ability to deliver complex ad hoc data pulls and analysis. Preparing meaningful presentation materials for senior management and supporting complex budget process are additional responsibilities of this position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Perform Portfolio Management functions, project sequencing and analysis to optimize the project portfolio while minimizing resource constraints. Proactively identify trends and patterns and generate insights for IT LOB's senior leadership.
  • Define, establish, and implement enhancements to IT capacity planning and resource planning to include process definition, procedural documentation, tool requirements and enhancements and end user training.
  • Proactively collaborate with project teams, resource managers, and project leaders on resource needs and resolve resource constraints as they arise.
  • Planning and management at the portfolio level: tracking of financial actuals and accruals; month end reporting and variance analysis; reconciliation with Finance during budgets and projections in conjunction with portfolio approved spend on all projects and teams.
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of appropriation requests, purchase orders, and invoice processing.
  • Design, develop, analyze, and report on critical portfolio metrics and scorecards as related to finance and resource management.
  • Translate business needs into analytics/reporting requirements to support executive decisions and workflows with required information ensuring that complicated information is delivered effectively and efficiently.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to understand their information needs and identifies ways to visualize and present information in a user-friendly manner.
  • Evaluate project requests cross-functionally and within application areas in partnership with application owners to determine resource requirements, durations, and competencies.
  • Enhance the process and reporting to ensure accuracy and quality of data.
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities for improvement within the context of portfolio financial management.
  • Leverage a deep understanding of the business expectations and requirements to enhance information visualization through development of dashboards and scorecards.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITES:

  • Ability to operate independently within the guidelines of overall objectives.
  • Ability to think strategically, possess strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, and eagerness to take initiative and accountability.
  • Strong analytical skills are required for performing business, data, and/or statistical analysis.
  • Proficient in information taxonomy creation, information visualization and modeling
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work across multiple organization and teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with well-developed facilitation and presentational skills to develop effective executive level communications.
  • Minimum BA/BS degree or equivalent.
  • Five+ years of work experience relevant to the position.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to independently drive resolution of issues and challenges and shape your own work.
  • Highly proficient with Excel and a working knowledge of business intelligence products such as Power BI and SharePoint, and data warehousing techniques.

The base salary for this position is reflective of the range of salary levels for all roles within this pay grade across the U.S. Individual salaries within this range will vary based on factors such as role, relevant skillset, relevant experience, education and geographic location. In addition to the base salary, this role is eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan, with any such payment based upon company, line of business and/or individual performance.
