Job Description
Primary Duties and Responsibilities (Daily Duties)
- Sets up and adjusts cutting machines for scheduled orders
- Safe and efficient operation of the production process, including start-up, adjustment of cutting presses to proper parameters involving close tolerances
- Maintenance, troubleshooting, and cleaning of the equipment
- Provide training and assistance to lesser-skilled personnel.
- Notifies supervisor of any significant incidents/delays/equipment malfunction/ poor quality raw material.
- Strips/loads roll onto the machine using a forklift/clamp truck.
- Determines die layout to ensure minimum waste of paper.
- Inspects and measures products for conformance to specifications.
- May train in other areas to provide coverage
- Other duties as assigned/required.
Minimum Competencies
- Typically possess 2-3 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong communications skills
- Ability to complete training, pass the forklift certification test, and demonstrate the ability to operate a forklift.
- Experience in setting up mechanical equipment required.
- Ability to read and use a ruler/scale
