Job Description
The Fleet Engineer assists in providing strategic and technical leadership for the planning, execution, and lifecycle management of all passenger rail assets. This role reports to the Director, Mechanical - Canada and works closely with the Mechanical and Systems Operations Teams in Canada and the United States. This role provides technical oversight of contractors, ensuring the safe, reliable, and cost-effective delivery and performance of large rolling stock projects. The Fleet Engineer assists with large capital project execution, asset optimization, and vendor management, while fostering a culture of innovation, quality, and continuous improvement. In depth knowledge of railcar retrofits and new passenger car builds is critical to success in this role.
