Job Description
The Renovations Assistant provides hands-on support for renovation and improvement projects at Fantasyland Hotel. This role is responsible for completing a variety of repair, renovation, and finishing tasks within guest rooms and hotel spaces, with a focus on larger projects that support the upkeep, modernization, and overall appearance of the property. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and experienced in multiple trades within a fast-paced hospitality environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Completing renovation, repair, and improvement projects within guest rooms, hallways, and other hotel areas, including demolition, installation, finishing, and general construction tasks.
Performing a variety of trade related duties including carpentry, painting, drywall repair, flooring installation, basic plumbing, and minor electrical work.
Assisting with larger renovation projects and room upgrades to maintain hotel quality and appearance standards.
Operating and maintaining hand tools, power tools, and renovation equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Preparing work areas, moving materials, and ensuring renovation spaces remain clean, organized, and safe throughout projects.
Identifying repair requirements and reporting any maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or project delays to leadership.
Supporting material handling duties, including lifting, transporting, and organizing renovation supplies and equipment.
Working in confined spaces, at heights, and in various indoor renovation environments while following safety procedures and hotel standards.
Collaborating with internal departments and contractors to minimize disruptions to hotel operations and guest experiences.
Maintaining a professional and courteous attitude while working in guest-facing areas.
Other duties as assigned.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous renovation, construction, or handyman experience is required.
Experience in multiple trades including carpentry, painting, drywalling, flooring, plumbing, or electrical work is considered an asset.
Strong knowledge of basic repair techniques, renovation tools, and safe work practices.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple renovation tasks and priorities.
Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and performing manual labor throughout the shift.
Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This is a full-time position with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
This position has a wage of $23.00 per hour.
Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.
