About this position:
Under the direction of the Assistant Controller, the Accountant is responsible for recording journal entries, maintaining asset and liability schedules, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and assisting with company business compliance by processing licensing applications and tax filings when needed. In this role you will prepare financial reports and analyses as requested by the Assistant Controller while also providing recommendations for improved processes and internal financial controls.
What you will do:
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain schedules explaining the month-end balances
- Assist with the preparation of and updating of monthly metric reports
- Produce balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports as necessary
- Research and analyze actual versus budget along with month over month variances
- Maintain financial security by following and enforcing internal procedures and controls
- Prepare schedules/roll-forwards and answer requests during annual audits
- Learn and stay up to date with new accounting regulations and company controls, procedures, and systems
- Provide recommendations on accounting and compliance process improvements and financial controls
- Other duties as assigned (sales tax filings, compliance, etc.)
