In this role, you will lead and contribute to major tooling operations that enable program execution. You will plan and manage tooling projects—small and large—from concept through implementation, coordinating schedules, resources, and cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate is a proactive project lead and collaborative team player with hands-on experience in tooling and production environments. What You’ll Get To Do:
· Assist with coordination of design and fabrication requirements for tools and fixtures with customers, both internal and external. Performing tolerance analysis to ensure form/fit/function.
· Conduct root cause failure investigations and implement associated corrective actions for production tooling.
· Develop & maintain the production line tooling statement of work.
· Assist Product Development Team with new product designs to ensure manufacturability, validate process/technology. Developing the tool usage instructions for all designed tools and equipment.
· Assist in managing all phases of project: design, document, fabricate, assemble and validate Core Competencies – Manufacturing aptitude - Knowledge of manufacturing, methods, fabrication processes (e.g., forming, stamping, machining, heat treatment, machines/machine tools, cutting tools and fluids, N/C programming, instrumentation, data acquisition and control systems).
· Ability to select the best method of producing parts, tools or assemblies.
· Computer Aided Design Tools - Advanced knowledge of computer aided design tools and systems (e.g., computer aided design / computer aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM), computer aided three dimensional interactive (NX).
· Able to manipulate data sets, (e.g., compare NX to measurement data, create stereo lithography files). Engineering Drawings & Specs - Basic ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
· Functional level understanding of GD&T.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s Degree with 12 years of experience; Master's Degree in with 10 years of experience; PhD with 8 years of experience.
•Experience in medium to large scale tooling fabrication and/or production fabrication including composites, metallic, coatings application, and/or production manufacturing operations.
•Active DOD Secret clearance with an investigation date/periodic review within the last 5 years, and the ability to obtain a Program Special access within a reasonable period as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Nice to Have:
·Experience with BuildIT
·Experience working with NX.
·Experience managing/coordinating technical projects (cost, schedule, and technical performance).
·Ability to understand/read/apply GD&T to a blueprint.
·Previous experience on high rate production military program.
·Experience with Inter Continental Ballistic Missiles (ICBM).
·Experience with CPLM (Common Product Life Cycle Management) and MES (Manufacturing Execution System).
·Knowledge of AS6500 requirements.
·5 years of experience in Catia or NX, 5 years of experience using ASME Y 14.5 in a design role.
·5 years of experience in Tool Design
·Ability to communicate with various levels of leadership - Must be able to coordinate and resolve interpersonal and technical problems. Must work well either in a team environment or independently. Ability to work well with little to no supervision.
Primary Level Salary Range: $153,600.00 - $230,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
