Job Description



BSU Inc. is a dynamic and fast-growing Electronic Manufacturing and Design company.

Summary: The candidate is responsible for soldering or assembling and inspecting surface mount and through hole electronic components on printed circuit boards.  The candidate must demonstrate quality workmanship and be able to read and interpret work documents such as BOMs, routers, work instructions, and drawings necessary to produce high quality electronic assemblies that exceed our customer’s expectations, in accordance with industry standards.  Due to ITAR Restrictions, US Citizenship or green card is required.

Job Duties:

  1. Solder surface mount components (Fine pitch, SOIC etc.).
  2. Solder through-hole components.
  3. Perform visual inspection of PCB’s for IPC-A-610 workmanship requirements.
  4. Perform inspection tasks using microscopes, calipers, and micrometers. 
  5. Perform visual inspection of PCBs for IPC-A-610 workmanship requirements.
  6. Inspects for visual cosmetic, dimensional, and fit & function compliance.
  7. Approve finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
  8. Maintains quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products; recording quality results.
  9. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  1. Familiar with electronics components: resistors, capacitors, diodes, inductors, transistors, ICs, etc...
  2. Experience soldering surface mount and through-hole components to IPC Class 3.
  3. Experience inspecting surface mount and through hole solder per IPC-A-610 Class 3 workmanship requirements.
  4. Good working knowledge of ESD and IPC-A-610 class 3 workmanship requirements.
  5. Familiarity with J Standard or Mil-cert is beneficial.
  6. Expected to read and comprehend process documentation including Bills of Materials and Assembly drawings.
  7. Expected to communicate well in English both verbally and in written format.
  8. Component Identification Ability required.
  9. Candidates should be very organized with the ability to keep count of parts.
  10. Candidates should have the ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.

Education:

1.       High school diploma.
2.       Associate Degree (preferred).
3.       Proficient with excel and Word is a must.
