Position Summary
The Team Lead is an hourly role responsible for coordinating daily production activities to support safe, efficient, and high-quality operations. This position provides front-line leadership and direction to production employees without direct supervisory authority, ensuring adherence to standard work, policies, and performance expectations. The Team Lead supports achievement of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost objectives while fostering teamwork and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily work activities and workflow for assigned production line(s) to meet production targets.
- Monitor line performance and proactively address issues impacting Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
- Assist with equipment operation, changeovers, minor troubleshooting, and escalation of technical issues.
- Ensure materials, tools, and resources are available to support uninterrupted production.
- Provide backup support as needed to maintain operational continuity.
- Provide work direction, guidance, and real-time support to production employees without direct supervisory authority.
- Reinforce adherence to standard work, safety requirements, and company policies.
- Facilitate daily startup and shift meetings to communicate goals, priorities, and performance updates.
- Promote open communication, teamwork, and a respectful work environment.
- Identify training needs and support onboarding and skills development in partnership with leadership.
- Promote and model safe work practices; ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Support quality standards and ensure adherence to established procedures and specifications.
- Maintain required production, safety, and quality documentation accurately and timely.
- Maintain work areas consistent with 5S and visual management standards.
- Participate in and support continuous improvement initiatives, including Rapid Problem Solving and Root Cause Corrective Action.
- Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance processes.
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, quality, and other partners to resolve issues and implement improvements.
- Communicate performance metrics, issues, and priorities to supervisors and peers.
- Escalate operational challenges impacting Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with other Team Leads to ensure consistency in processes and standard work.
- Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.
We we are looking for
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Two or more years of manufacturing experience or equivalent experience in a production environment.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate work, provide direction, and influence others without direct supervisory authority.
- Basic problem-solving skills, including root cause identification and corrective action.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow standard work instructions and operating procedures.
- Basic computer skills, including data entry and use of production tracking systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, sound judgment, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to analyze production information and support data-driven decision making.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during scheduled shifts.
- Ability to safely lift, carry, push, or pull materials up to 60 pounds.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including, but not limited to, reaching, bending, twisting, climbing, stretching, and handling materials as required by the role.
Preferred
- Prior experience in a lead, coordinator, or informal leadership role in manufacturing.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience with production equipment troubleshooting.
- Yellow Belt certification or willingness to obtain.

Total Rewards Package
The pay rate for this position is up to USD $26.25/Hr. per hour
