Able Seafarer

To serve a as a (rating) positioned in a capacity of AB (Deck or Engine) on a tug, Launch, Pilot Boat, Work Boat or Floating Crane operating within the confine of the port operations area. Be responsible for the safe and efficient handling and /or operation of ropes, wires, Winches, capstans, and other deck equipment during the shipping operations, To perform maintenance duties on the deck, accommodation, tank, void, and engine room spaces of the crafts including general cleaning and housekeeping thereby ensuring a safe, and reliable and professional delivery of marine fleer services to the client. Participate in Bridge and/or Engine Room Resource Management activities as and when required by the Master or Chief Marine Engineers Officer, i.e. perform look out duties on the bridge. Be responsible for the efficient and economical use of paints, working tools and consumable stores. To safely operate all deck or engine lifting, towing, cleaning and pumping machinery as and when required by the Master and/or Chief Marine Engineer Officer.
