Senior Mechanical Engineer

  • He is expected to establish direct contact with Client and whenever necessary with other Bureau VERITAS organization.

 

  • Minimum Required Qualifications
    1. Specialty

MEP construction field experience (Consultant, Contractor, T.P Consultant).

Sound knowledge in mechanical systems design review, installation supervision, T&C activities including (HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection and FLS systems).

    1. Education

B.Sc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

UAE Certificate Equivalency.

    1. Training

. Mechanical deign software training (HAP, Ventilation Calculator, Fire Protection design software, Plumbing design software).

. FLS training.

. Site Safety Induction

. Sea Survival Course for Offshore Sites

. H2S Course if Required

. Specific Technical Induction for Specific Projects.

    1. Technical knowledge
  • Strong knowledge of the International Codes & Standards such as ASHRAE, IPC, UPC, NFPA and UAE Fire & Life Safety.
  • Experience in design review including mechanical drawings, calculations, material submittals…etc.
  • Experience in T&C activities including HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection systems according to recognized standards such as NBBE,CIBSE.
  • Experience in conducting FLS inspections.
  • Knowledge in preparing technical reports and analysing results.
  • Strong Microsoft office skills (M.S Word, M.S Excel, M.S Power Point…etc.).

 

    1. Experience

Engineer : Minimum 10 years in construction field.

  • Responsibilities / Authorities / Accountabilities
    1. Primary Functions
  • Lead review and validation of Inspection Test Plans, Quality Plans, and procedures; establish technical standards
  • Define Bureau Veritas inspection strategy and direct selection of advanced inspection techniques
  • Oversee execution of complex inspections and conduct quality audits
  • Champion BV Quality System compliance across all inspection activities
  • Ensure comprehensive inspection reporting with advanced deliverables
  • Lead witness activities for equipment inspections, pre-commissioning, and commissioning tests
  • Mentor junior engineers on procedure interpretation, technique selection, and root cause analysis
  • Lead strategic communication with clients, teams, and senior management
  • Champion Bureau Veritas service portfolio to key clients; identify expansion opportunities
  • Drive knowledge management initiatives and best practice sharing
  • Uphold security guidelines and promote workplace safety culture
  • Prepare comprehensive, timely inspection reports with technical authority
    1. Technical Expertise
  • Application of codes and standards, project specifications and procedures
  • Experience in design review including mechanical drawings, calculations, material submittals…etc.
  • Experience in T&C activities including HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection systems according to recognized standards such as NBBE,CIBSE.
  • Experience in conducting FLS inspections.
  • Provide expert interpretation of complex inspection results and technical findings
  • Lead investigation and resolution of Non-Conformities; develop corrective action strategies
  • Able to identify required Bureau Veritas interventions, based on a pre-defined Quality Plan and according to specified standards.
  • Able to review / appraise inspection procedures
  • Review and appraise inspection procedures; recommend enhancements aligned with industry standards
    1. Business Requirements
  • Report to Team leader about day-to-day inspection, non-compliance /discrepancy to specification.
    1. Self Management
  • Maintains a high degree of expertise through permanent specialized training and knowledge management.
  • Ensure that inspection is carried out as per approved drawings / Inspection test plans.
  • Meet project development objectives
  • Should be Results oriented, Service driven and Problem solving 

Comply with company regulations, procedures and Code of Ethics.

  • Ensure that Inspection is carried out as per Inspection test plans and other applicable technical specifications.
  • Understand client needs and work to achieve successful project outcomes.
  • Develop trust and open communication with the client.
