JOB DESCRIPTION:
Removes merchandise from carts, conveyor belt, scans for price or places on scale to weigh, bags orders, accepts payment and makes change. Occasionally will assist customer to vehicle with their purchases. Also face shelves, sweep floor or clean around check stand area.
Facing shelves throughout the store. Receiving freight, unload boxes from pallets, move boxes to aisles using hand trucks. Cut off top of boxes and stock contents to shelves. Worker will sweep, mop and do general cleaning as needed. Other tasks as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Use of fingers, hands, arms and legs when facing shelves, receiving freight, unloading pallets, stocking merchandise to shelves.
- Use of hand truck, dolly, box knife, pallet jack, four wheel and 6-wheel carts when stocking freight.
- Continuous lifting of 10 lb to 50 lbs.
- Sweeping, mopping and general cleaning.
- Continuous standing for 7 to 8 hours.
DESIRED, NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Check merchandise at check stand by scanning items.
- Knowledge of hardware
- Remove merchandise from belt/cart.
- Bag merchandise (lifting of items 1 lb. to 40 lbs.)
- Help customers to car with merchandise.
- Accept payment and make change.
- Use cash registers and grocery carts.
