**$500 Sign-On Bonus ($250 after 3 months of service & $250 after 6 months!)**

RATE OF PAY: $16-$18

POSITION SUMMARY:
A Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the kitchen and dish areas, ensuring all dishes, equipment, and workspaces are properly cleaned, organized, and stocked. This role supports the kitchen and service teams by maintaining efficient dishwashing operations, assisting with basic food prep as needed, and helping uphold health and safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and dish area

  • Wash, sort, and properly store all soiled dishes, glassware, silverware, cookware, and containers

  • Set up and maintain dish stations, including dish machines and sinks

  • Ensure floors remain clean, dry, and free of clutter throughout the shift

  • Operate dishwashing equipment safely and in accordance with procedures

  • Change water in machines and sinks as needed, following proper chemical dilution guidelines (EcoLab)

  • Maintain trash cans, remove full trash, and break down boxes at the end of each shift

  • Keep dry storage areas organized and shelves properly stocked

  • Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries in a timely manner

  • Follow all posted daily cleaning and sanitation duties

  • Assist with basic food prep and other kitchen tasks as directed by the chef or management

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
High school diploma/GED preferred

Experience: 1 year of steward/dishwasher experience preferred


Skills:

  • Strong customer service mindset

  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and multitask

  • Self-motivated with a high-energy work style

  • Basic verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Equipment used: dishwasher, mop, broom, and sanitation tools/chemicals

Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time

  • Ability to use hands to handle tools, equipment, and materials

  • Ability to perform repetitive motions throughout the shift

  • Ability to walk, bend, and twist as required

  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull items in excess of 30 lbs

Work Environment:

  • Indoor commercial kitchen environment

  • Exposure to heat, cold, cleaning chemicals, and food handling areas

  • May be exposed to sharp objects, hot surfaces, and minor burn or cut hazards

  • Works in close proximity to others in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting

  • Environment may be noisy and high-energy with continuous activity

  • Personal protective equipment such as gloves may be required
