As Project Assistant, you will play an important role in keeping our projects on track by supporting project teams and managers in their day‑to‑day work.

As Damen Engineering Gdańsk we are set up to be involved into the engineering process from the moment when an idea is generated by the client to the vessel delivery. We are responsible for transforming the initial design into a complete and practicable engineering package.

The Project Assistant role
 

We are looking for a Project Assistant who enjoys working in a dynamic project environment and feels comfortable supporting multiple stakeholders. You will work closely with Project Managers and project teams, helping to ensure smooth communication, well‑organized documentation, and up‑to‑date project schedules.

If you are well organized, detail‑oriented, and like being at the center of project activities, this role is for you.
 

Key accountabilities

  • Providing administrative and organizational support to project teams and Project Managers

  • Creating and maintaining project schedules based on information received from team members

  • Handling project correspondence and documentation (creating document environment and workflow also within classification society).

  • Entering, maintaining, and structuring project data in project management systems (PMIS).

  • Preparing basic project reports and status overviews.

  • Supporting internal project communication.

  • ensuring accuracy, completeness, and order in project documentation.
     

Skills & experience

  • At least 1–2 years of experience in an administrative or assistant role within project teams.

  • Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.

  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with MS Project is a must.

  • English proficiency at minimum B2 level

  • Polish language communication proficiency at least C1 is a must.

  • Nice to have: Experience with maritime classification society software. Knowledge of IFS system. Experience with managing engineering documentation (transmittals).
