The Accounting Manager is a detail-oriented and proactive leader responsible for overseeing key internal reporting activities and financial reporting processes across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Inventory Control, and Sales. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, strengthens internal controls, supports SOX compliance, and develops scalable accounting processes to support a growing organization. The Accounting Manager partners closely with leadership to help establish the vision, strategy, and standards governing the company’s assets and financial operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly income statements and expense reporting, and present results to department leaders with insights on accuracy, trends, and opportunities for improvement
- Review and analyze monthly financial results, including preparing variance analysis as needed to support business decision-making
- Ensure timely payment of periodic expenditures by applying sound judgment and GAAP guidance to determine whether costs should be accrued, deferred, or expensed
- Support end-to-end invoice and payment processing requirements, including purchase order and non-purchase order accounts payable processes
- Manage the purchase card program, including oversight of cardholder spend, monitoring compliance with established guidelines, and ensuring cardholders uphold proper controls and policy requirements
- Oversee the end-to-end cost accounting process to ensure accurate inventory costing within the Company’s inventory management system, including monthly and quarterly close activities, inventory- and manufacturing-related journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational innovation while partnering regularly with business owners and senior leaders on accounting matters
- Collaborate with external vendors to resolve accounting issues and discrepancies
- Provide accounting support across the organization and respond to financial questions and concerns to meet business needs
- Complete ad hoc assignments, business projections, forecasts, and special projects with limited direction

- 5–7+ years of public and/or private accounting experience with strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and monthly close processes required
- 3+ years of general accounting experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field required
- MBA, CPA, or CMA designation preferred
- Experience with ERP systems required; NetSuite experience preferred
- Retail or wholesale industry experience preferred

Pay Range
$95,000.00 - $115,000.00
