Job Description
Responsibilities
- Operate bulldozers (D6–D8 or similar) for:
- Rough and finish grading
- Site prep and earthmoving
- Roadway construction and embankments
- Read and interpret grade stakes, cut/fill plans, and project layouts
- Work closely with foremen, grade checkers, and other equipment operators
- Maintain proper slopes, grades, and elevations per project specs
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Follow all ESS safety policies and OSHA standards
- Keep work areas clean, safe, and productive
- Assist with other equipment or labor tasks as needed
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience operating dozers in heavy civil construction
- Strong understanding of grade, slope, and elevation control
- Experience working around GPS or grade control systems (preferred)
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Reliable transportation to Kansas City job sites
- Strong safety mindset and attention to detail
- Experience with government contracts and compliance is a plus
Preferred Experience
- Heavy highway, roadwork, or mass excavation projects
- Experience working in team‑driven, fast‑paced environments
- Willingness to travel as projects require
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods while operating equipment
- Ability to climb on/off equipment multiple times per day
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
