The Supervisor – Senior Accountant - Costs is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Accounts Payable (AP), cash receipts, accounting for the self-administered Medical Benefit Plan, and administrative reporting. This role ensures accuracy, compliance with accounting principles, and timely reporting while supporting internal controls and process improvements. The Supervisor supervises a team of accounting staff, collaborates with HR and Finance leadership, and serves as a key resource for financial analysis and operational support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes but are not limited to the following:
Manage the processing of vendor invoices, and corporate credit card reconciliations.
Ensure timely and accurate disbursements in compliance with Frontier Behavioral Health policies and vendor agreements.
Maintain vendor master data and resolve invoice/payment discrepancies.
Prepare, review, and file annual Form 1099 reports with the IRS and distribute 1099’s to vendors.
Ensure compliance with federal and state tax reporting requirements related to vendor payments.
Supervise cash receipts and applications.
Oversee accounting and reconciliation for the self-administered medical benefit plan, including claims payments, contributions, and reserves.
Support recurring financial audits and prepare periodic internal and external reports for management, auditors, and regulators.
Maintain accurate records for audits, monitoring visits, and funding agency reviews.
Partner with program and operations staff to align financial data with program and performance requirements.
Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Manage month-end and year-end closing activities.
Develop, document, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Provide additional accounting and management support to other supervisors as required.
Supervise, train, and evaluate accounting staff; provide coaching and performance feedback.
Serve as a liaison between finance, HR, and program management to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Perform other accounting-related and supervisory duties as assigned by Frontier Behavioral Health leadership

QUALIFIED APPLICANTS WILL HAVE:
REQUIRED:
1. A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Relevant work experience in health care or non-profit fund accounting may be considered by FBH, at its discretion, in place of the degree requirement, depending on the applicant’s overall qualifications.
2. Three to five years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
3. Strong analytical skills and computerized software accounting experience is required.
PREFERRED:
Experience in healthcare or non-profit.
Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.

PAY RANGE (Salary/Exempt): $81,728.10 - $99,568.26
All pay is based on longevity at Frontier Behavioral Health; thus, the starting pay is $81,728.10 annually.
