About the role
We are seeking an experienced Lead Data Engineer to own and evolve our enterprise data platform, architecting and scaling a modern ecosystem for analytics and data-driven products. This hands-on leadership role goes beyond pipelines, partnering with business and technology leaders to translate complex needs into robust, high-performance solutions. You will ensure exceptional reliability (99.9%+) while continuously advancing our DataOps capabilities

As part of the IT and Digital function, the Data and Analytics team plays a critical role in transforming data into meaningful insights that guide decision-making across regions and functions. We collaborate closely with business, finance, operations, and leadership teams to solve challenges, improve processes, and implement scalable analytics solutions that move the organization forward.

Your Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Architect and implement scalable, distributed data platforms supporting both batch and real-time processing
- Define and enforce engineering standards, best practices, and architectural principles
- Evaluate and introduce new technologies to improve performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
Data Pipeline & Platform Ownership
- Lead the design, development, testing, and maintenance of automated data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and curation
- Ensure high availability, observability, and performance across the data stack
- Drive adoption of metadata-driven and declarative pipeline approaches
Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Coach and develop engineers across all levels
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Provide architectural guidance and hands-on support for complex initiatives
Data Governance & Quality
- Establish frameworks for data validation, security, privacy, and compliance (including GDPR)
- Ensure data integrity, consistency, and reliability across platforms
- Define standards for data ownership, lineage, and lifecycle management
Documentation & Standards
- Maintain clear documentation of data models, definitions, and architecture
- Promote transparency, maintainability, and operational continuity
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders and product teams
- Translate business objectives into scalable technical solutions
- Communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
You bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Analytics, Statistics, or a related field
- 10+ years of data engineering experience, including leadership responsibilities
- Proven track record of delivering enterprise-scale data platforms
- Strong engagement with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams
- Certification in a leading data platform (e.g., SnowPro) is a plus
- Ability to translate business needs into scalable data solutions and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders
- Strong focus on data accuracy, governance, and maintaining reliable, well documented data assets
Techinical Skills
Expertise in modern data architecture, including hybrid, multi engine environments across Snowflake and Microsoft Fabric, with strong understanding of lakehouse and warehouse paradigms
Deep experience with the Snowflake platform, including Snowpark, Dynamic Tables, and Cortex AI, with focus on performance tuning and cost optimization
Hands on experience with Microsoft Fabric and Azure analytics, including Synapse, Data Factory Gen2, and Fabric Lakehouse and Warehouse
Strong experience in orchestration and integration, using tools such as Matillion and Azure Data Factory to build scalable, metadata driven workflows
Experience in data governance and security, ensuring consistent, secure, and reliable data across platforms
Exposure to AI ready data platforms, including RAG pipelines and vector enabled architectures
Proven ability in performance and cost optimization, managing compute usage and improving overall platform efficiency
Experience with DevOps and DataOps, including CI and CD practices and tools such as dbt
