We’re looking for a Drainlayer to join our Southland team. This is a hands‑on role delivering high‑quality water and drainage infrastructure that supports our local communities and keeps projects moving safely and efficiently.

Mō te tūranga – About the role

As a Drainlayer, you’ll be responsible for carrying out drainage and water infrastructure works across a range of projects in Southland. This is a site‑based, practical role where you’ll work as part of an experienced crew, ensuring work is completed safely, to specification, on time and to a high standard. You’ll work closely with supervisors and project teams to deliver quality outcomes for our clients and communities.

Ngā kawenga matua – Key responsibilities

  • Install stormwater, wastewater and water infrastructure in line with plans and specifications
  • Carry out PE watermain, concrete and PVC drainage installations
  • Read and interpret plans, standards and service information
  • Work safely around existing services and within live environments
  • Maintain strong health, safety, quality and environmental standards on site
  • Communicate effectively with crew members, supervisors and project teams

  • Proven experience carrying out drainage works on civil or infrastructure projects
  • Strong knowledge of PE, concrete and PVC drainage systems
  • Sound understanding of working around existing underground services
  • A strong safety‑focused mindset
  • Current New Zealand Drainlayer certification (preferred), or the ability and willingness to work towards certification
  • A hands‑on, team‑first attitude with a willingness to muck in
