
Senior Paralegal
Job Description
The Senior Paralegal will directly assist and support the General Counsel and other members of Related Companies’ legal team, with a primary focus on corporate governance and transactional matters. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting corporate and real estate transactions, while also demonstrating the versatility to support a broad range of legal matters. This position will be based in New York, NY. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Support the legal team in all aspects of corporate governance, real estate transactions, and other legal matters and special projects
- Assist in the preparation, review and editing of legal documents, including transaction documents, NDAs, license agreements and other contracts
- Support corporate/real estate transactions and coordinate closing processes, including ordering good standing certificates and lien searches, overseeing document execution and compiling and delivering documents
- Monitor transaction timelines, closing checklists, and follow up on outstanding items to ensure timely completion
- Prepare organizational documents, including entity formation documents, operating agreements, assignments, authorizing resolutions, officer/incumbency certificates and other governance materials
- Maintain legal department files, records, templates, databases and transaction documentation
- Collaborate and interface with outside legal counsel, internal business teams and other stakeholders
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5-7 years of paralegal experience supporting corporate and transactional matters in a law firm or in-house legal department
- Experience supporting corporate and transactional matters; real estate experience is strongly preferred.
- Superior interpersonal skills:
- Ease in working with people up and down the organization hierarchy
- Naturally adaptive to different audiences
- Diplomatically assertive
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritize competing deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong sense of integrity and ethics
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Undergraduate degree required
- A Registered Paralegal (RP) certification is preferred
Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.
Anticipated base salary range: $120,000 - $140,000+
Actual base salary within the anticipated range will be determined by several components including, but not limited to, the individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and market factors.
