About the role
The Preventative Maintenance Technician is integral to meeting property objectives, with responsibility for maintaining the overall physical condition of the community and providing world-class service to our valued residents. Our Preventative Maintenance Technician diagnoses maintenance issues, makes necessary repairs and ensures all residents, common area, and project service requests are completed timely.
What you'll be doing
Completes maintenance tasks for all assigned preventative maintenance inspections and ad hoc projects efficiently and in a quality manner on a rolling quarterly basis.
Regularly performs hands-on maintenance duties including: Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical, Drywall, Painting, Screen Repair, Exterior work, Locksmith work, Stair/Railing/ Trip Hazard work, Unit Turn Work.
Organizes and files all work order/ inspection paperwork to ensure completion tracking.
Communicates regularly with supervisors on status of assigned work. Updates supervisors as necessary on supplies and parts inventory. Communicates with community office staff on routine basis for work order and inspection status.
Attends and assists with LifeWorks events as needed.
Drives company vehicle.
Delivers the highest level of resident satisfaction through responsive, consistent, positive, and professional interactions.
Who we're looking for
GED or High School Diploma preferred
EPA 608 Universal required
Certified Pool Operator may be required
Preferred degree/license/certification(s) in at least one of the following: HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Appliance Repair Certification or Carpentry
Preference given to those who have CAMT or APPA
Minimum of 1 year of maintenance experience
Demonstrated strong customer service skills
Advanced knowledge in the following disciplines: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry.
Ability to diagnose problems and implement repairs
Ability to perform Quality Control on work and repairs completed
Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong time management skills.
Strong customer service skills.
Must have an active and valid driver’s license
