As a Support Worker, you’ll work with customers who have complex mental health needs and additional conditions such as learning disabilities, autism or neurological conditions. This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same, offering real opportunities to help people achieve their goals, grow in independence, and progress on their recovery journey.

What you’ll do
Creating person-centred action plans to help build structure and purpose.
Support might include completing a budget plan or working through coping strategies with customers.
Support a customer to access the community for activities such as a trip to the beach, cinema, or a picnic in the park.
You’ll help customers take their first steps towards independent living, including developing skills to maintain their tenancy, complete in-house learning, or explore volunteering and career opportunities
You’ll receive full training and ongoing support to develop in your role
Recognise every customer is different and you’re able to adopt a flexible, personal approach, listening to customers to understand their needs

You have
Passion to support our customers to live their best life, working together with an eye for detail
Experience of caring for others, you may have worked in care before or have experience of caring for others such as family members or children
The ability to work on your own initiative, remain calm under pressure and have a resilient approach
Work in a trauma informed way and ensure we listen and understand each customer’s individual story and what’s important to them.
A Level 2 diploma in Care or equivalent experience (or willing to study towards it)

The practical bits
Working on a rota across 7 days of the week, weekends will be shared equally across the team. Usual working hours are between 8am and 8pm for 7.5hours a day.
Although the service is community based, you will usually only support 2 - 3 customers per day. Travel and break time is planned into your shift time and you can claim expenses for your travel between customers.
We have an office base in Middlesbrough as well as Stockton for colleagues to work from when not out on support.
Although you’ll often lone work to deliver the support, we do get together regularly for training and weekly team meetings
You need an Enhanced DBS with barring list (we pay)
A vehicle insured for business use (and a license!), we’ll pay for any business mileage would be preferred for this role.
