Production Planner Assistant

The Production Planner Assistant supports shop production by ensuring all necessary production information and job packets are prepared and delivered to the floor in a timely manner. This role maintains and communicates the production schedule, including current workloads and backlog, while creating inventory jobs to sustain company and affiliate product needs as projects are sold.

The Production Planner Assistant works closely with the Production Planner, Production Manager, and Shop Supervisor to ensure alignment across all production activities and priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and distribute complete job packets to the production floor
• Maintain and update production schedules, including current and upcoming work
• Create and manage inventory jobs to support ongoing operational demands
• Monitor backlog and assist in planning future production needs
• Communicate effectively with production leadership to ensure workflow efficiency

Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of basic costing, inventory management, and accounting principles
• Familiarity with sales and engineering terminology
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Strong organizational and communication skills
