Intern or Entry-level Software Engineer

Key Information

• Location may be fully remote, or hybrid on-site in Reston, VA for scheduled meetings and group working sessions.
• This role is part-time and paid hourly with flexible schedules.
• Prior experience is not required. Recommended qualifications include computer science coursework, coding bootcamp experience, or self-guided technical projects.
• These positions start on a rolling basis every 4-6 months.

About the Role

We are seeking motivated Software Engineers to join our team. You will gain hands-on experience building and deploying cloud-native applications while working with modern infrastructure and development tools. This role offers mentorship, flexibility, and the opportunity to grow into a full-time software engineering position.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other members of the ILS engineering team to design, implement, and maintain cloud-based applications.
• Write clean, efficient, and testable code in Go.
• Work with cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines using AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize systems for performance and reliability.
• Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing within the team

Desired Skills (or willingness to learn)

• Go (Golang) programming.
• Cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Kubernetes for container orchestration.
  
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
