The Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine at the University of Washington invites applications for a full-time Electrophysiology Advanced Practice Provider. This is a clinical faculty position at the rank of Teaching Associate. We seek applicants who demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community. Clinical faculty hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms.

The base salary range for this position will be $10,833 - $15,175 per month ($130,000 - $182,095 per year), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

Other compensation associated with this position may include Temporary Pay Supplements or an Administrative Supplement.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

Clinical Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide full spectrum independent as well as collaborative electrophysiology care in the outpatient setting for adult arrhythmia patients including antiarrhythmic medication management, device care, pre/post-op evaluation, and urgent arrhythmia/device needs.
  • Provide full spectrum independent as well as collaborative electrophysiology care in the inpatient setting, primarily managing peri-procedural electrophysiology patients as well as antiarrhythmic drug loads requiring hospitalization.  Inpatient patient load may include managing stable cardiology overflow patients and/or managing patients with devices undergoing MRI evaluation.
  • Perform CEID interrogations with reprogramming.
  • Perform cardioversion and loop recorder implantation as training and experience allows.
  • Perform other related duties as required
  • Outpatient and inpatient work will be on a rotational basis including:
  • Outpatient clinical expectation is to work up to seven (7) 4-hr clinical blocks, with 5 patients per block within 8-12 months of start date. A 4-hr administrative block is scheduled for inbox management and required weekly cardiology meetings. Outpatient clinical work will comprise approximately 0.67 of clinical FTE.
  • Inpatient clinical expectation is to work 12-hr clinical shifts comprising approximately 0.33 of clinical FTE.

Professional Duties: 

  • Participate in quality improvement projects and process improvement activities.
  • Participate in and support the Division’s education, research and quality initiatives.
  • Provide education and mentorship to fellow team members, staff, residents, fellows, nurses and students.
  • Translate research and other forms of knowledge to improve practice processes and patient outcomes.
  • Attend twice weekly Electrophysiology Conferences, weekly Cardiology Grand Rounds, monthly electrophysiology faculty meetings and quarterly cardiology faculty meetings.
  • Follow UWMC Professional Behavior Policy and Procedures.

Candidates will be considered across a range of interests in electrophysiology, heart failure and adult congenital heart disease and should hold an ACLS Certification and be well versed in EPIC.

This position reports to the Electrophysiology Service Director, Cardiology Senior Lead Advanced Practice Provider, and EP APP Lead. This position includes inpatient and outpatient duties and is a mix of 10 and 12 hour shifts, 4 days per week.  

Qualifications
Applicants for this full-time clinical faculty position must meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • Graduate Degree from and accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program
  • Current and valid state Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nursing Licensure for ARNP or Physician Assistant licensure for PA-C
  • Nationally certified ARNP/PA with DEA
