Summary:
Trains while pending pharmacist licensure and performs duties within the pharmacy intern scope of practice under the direct supervision of a Florida licensed pharmacist.Responsibilities:
Cross trains in all pharmacist's responsibilities and works under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist while awaiting licensure to practice at an Memorial Health Care System (MHS) location as a pharmacist or pharmacy resident.Cross functions in pharmacy technician duties as needed.Monitor and evaluate drug therapy and performs clinical interventions to promote safe and effective medication use.Assists with drug regimen reviews, medication preparation.Consults with members of the healthcare team on therapy and medication related issues.Provides drug information and education to staff, patients, patients' families, and providers.Reviews and assesses medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve potential and actual drug related problems. Recommends and follows protocols for alternatives drug therapies when appropriate.Communicates with physicians and other clinicians as necessary to facilitate care.Assists with facility level reviews to ensure compliance with the medication use process.Competencies:

Other Information: Promotion into the graduate pharmacy intern position is reserved for pharmacy interns transitioning into a licensed pharmacist position with MHS after graduation as either a pharmacist or pharmacy resident.Additional Education Info: Graduate of a school of pharmacy or a foreign equivalent programAdditional Credential Info: Florida Pharmacist Licensure required within 180 days of being promoted to graduate interns.Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
