The HVAC Mechanic is responsible for:

• Perform all essential functions of Class III Engineer plus ensure continuous operation of all air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.

 

The HVAC Mechanic’s primary responsibilities will include:

• Repair and maintain all existing refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.
• Install newly acquired equipment (AC & Refrigeration).
• Relocate equipment as needed.
• Electrical repairs and maintenance to mechanical equipment.
• Order and receive materials related to assigned equipment and maintain orderly inventory.
• Perform duties of Class I, II or III Engineer as needed.
• Report any unsafe conditions to the Director of Engineering.
• Coordinate outside assistance with AC/Refrigeration as needed.
  

• General knowledge and experience in building maintenance.
• Able to handle building mechanical systems and controls, electrical systems and energy management system.
• May require ability to drive pick-up truck and snow removal equipment.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities are required.

 

• Education – Trade school or advanced training in HVAC.
  • Require universal certification as dictated by AC/Refrigeration coolant laws.

• Experience – Four years experience in related field preferred.
