Reporting to the Center Manager the Rehabilitation Aide performs routine therapeutic activities such as gait maintenance and exercise programs; baseline modalities; assisting with the daily scheduling of department treatments; maintenance of department environment; and documentation.

Key duties and responsibilities of the position include, but may not necessarily be limited to:

  • Performing basic range of motion; routine therapeutic activities and exercise as outlined by therapist(s)

  • Providing functional transfer training; assisting with activity of daily living tasks

  • Conducting specialized exercise groups

  • Maintaining physical therapy ambulation programs

  • Providing modalities as outlined by treatment plan

  • Completing daily documentation: flow sheets; computer documentation; preparation of new participant treatment flow sheets and ongoing monthly flow sheets

  • Preparing daily treatment schedule board

  • Monitoring client’s equipment and report need for minor repair and/or equipment ordering

  • Attending department meetings and completing all routine cleaning and maintenance tasks, including laundry, clinic equipment, inventory supplies and rehab supplies

  • Actively participating in, and encouraging actions that promote good public relations with participants, their families, friends and visitors

  • Performing all other reasonably related jobs as assigned


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED Equivalence

  • 1 year of experience working with a geriatric population

  • Ability to speak English clearly and comprehend complex materials

  • Knowledge of body mechanics, basic anatomy, physiology and basic medical terminology

  • Interest in geriatric rehabilitation and previous geriatric rehabilitation experience

  • Ability to work and interact in an interdisciplinary team

  • Ability to follow directions without constant supervision

  • Strong time management and computer literacy skills


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and push, pull, or maneuver up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to reach, bend and walk

  • Five finger dexterities

COMPENSATION

Range: $22 - 25/Hourly

This amount is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, nor a promise of any specific pay for any specific employee, which is always dependent on actual experience, education and other factors.

This range does not include any additional equity, benefits, or other non-monetary compensation which may be included.
