Job Description

Supreme Court of Ohio Justice Megan E. Shanahan is accepting applications for the position of Judicial Law Clerk in her chambers. 

What You'll Do:

Law Clerks/Judicial Attorneys review and analyze arguments presented in a variety of motions and memoranda involving all areas of the Supreme Court’s jurisdiction under Article IV, Section 2(B) of the Ohio Constitution.  In addition, Law Clerks/Judicial Attorneys research and prepare initial drafts of merit opinions at the direction of the Justice.   

 

What we’re looking for:  

Applicants must be law school graduates, licensed to practice and in good standing with excellent research, writing, analytical, and communication skills. Prior clerkship experience with an Appellate Court Judge or a Supreme Court Justice is preferred. The ability to work independently, collaboratively, and efficiently is required. 

The successful applicant will be expected to perform his or her duties on a daily basis in the Thomas J. Moyer Ohio Judicial Center in Columbus.

The salary for the position will be set based on experience with a range beginning at $106,329.60. A competitive benefits package is also provided. This is a State of Ohio, exempt, unclassified position.
