Responsibilities

Concept Development & Mechanical Design

• Lead the end-to-end design and prototyping of innovative packaging mechanisms, from initial concept to final mechanical design.
• Develop complex 3D CAD models and assemblies in SolidWorks, ensuring functionality (sealing, reliability), ergonomics, user experience, cost-effectiveness, quality, and sustainability.
• Rapidly iterate on designs using 3D printing, incorporating user feedback and manufacturing constraints to optimize performance.
• Collaborate closely with Formula Development, Product Innovation, Marketing, and NPD Engineering to translate marketing and functional requirements into technically feasible packaging solutions.

Engineering & Project Management

• Oversee the engineering aspects and project management of unit tool development in collaboration with Packaging Development Engineers.
• Lead mechanical and functional testing of trial samples, analyze results, and make data-driven engineering decisions.
• Manage the fine-tuning of mechanical designs and approve necessary conception adjustments throughout the tooling development process.

Technical Intelligence & Innovation

• Act as a key driver of innovation by proposing and initiating new packaging concepts aligned with the company's technology roadmap.
• Scout and evaluate emerging technologies within the cosmetic packaging industry and adjacent sectors.
• Build and maintain technical intelligence on key partners' capabilities, leveraging their expertise to enhance our packaging concepts.

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical product design, specifically working with OEMs on plastic injection-molded components.
• Proven expertise in using SolidWorks for complex 2D and 3D mechanical design of plastic products.
• Strong command of English; proficiency in Mandarin or Cantonese is highly advantageous.

Preferred Industry Experience:

• Experience in one or more of the following industries is highly preferred: Cosmetic Packaging, Consumer Electronics / Smartphone Accessories, Small Appliances, or Dispensing Systems (e.g., pumps, food packaging).
