
Accounting Manager
Job Description
JOB SUMMARY: The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. The position is responsible for maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures for maintaining accurate and timely financial statements. This position reports to the Controller.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, reviewing account reconciliations and resolving discrepancies. Ensure proper classification of transactions.
- Complete monthly journal entries and help with the execution of financial closings on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely monthly Work in Progress Schedule and Financial Statements.
- Oversee Accounts Payable, Job Cost and Check Processing functions.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
- Communicate with internal stakeholders about changes, corrections, or other issues.
- Assist in all information requests for all outside audits and other third parties in a timely and responsive manner.
- Assist CFO & Controller in day-to-day operations.
- File Personal Property Tax & Sales Tax Returns for all states and jurisdictions.
- Continuously assess accounting processes and systems, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvement and implementing best practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree (strongly prefer business related degree)
- At least 5 years of experience in an accounting role
- Strong accounting background
- CPA, MBA preferred
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and customer service skills.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and procedure manuals. Demonstrate the ability to write routine reports, correspondence and the ability to speak effectively to customers and/or employees of organization using the English language.

REASONING ABILITY:
Possess the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The work environment is a professional corporate office. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage several people/teams in the Accounting function
