We are currently seeking a Subject Matter Expert - Semiconductor to join our Project and Development Services team in Taiwan. This role will provide specialized technical expertise and strategic guidance for semiconductor manufacturing facilities and infrastructure projects.
What this job involves:
- Technical Expertise & Strategic Advisory
Provide expert-level knowledge on semiconductor manufacturing processes, cleanroom technologies, specialized infrastructure requirements, and industry trends. Serve as the primary technical authority for internal teams and clients on semiconductor facility design, construction, and operational matters. Evaluate and assess semiconductor manufacturing facilities, cleanroom environments, contamination control systems, and specialized MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) requirements.
- Client Engagement & Project Support
Act as trusted technical advisor to clients in the semiconductor industry, understanding their unique facility requirements and operational constraints. Support project teams in translating complex technical requirements into actionable facility solutions and project specifications. Build rapport with client representatives to ensure technical scope, cleanroom classifications, process requirements, and outside business forces affecting the project are fully understood.
- Industry Analysis & Knowledge Management
Analyze semiconductor market trends, emerging technologies, manufacturing processes, and facility standards to inform project strategy. Assess technical feasibility and risk factors for semiconductor-related real estate and facility development decisions. Stay current with regulatory requirements, environmental standards, and industry certifications relevant to semiconductor manufacturing (ISO cleanroom standards, SEMI guidelines, etc.).
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with Project Managers, design teams, contractors, and equipment suppliers to deliver comprehensive solutions that meet semiconductor industry standards. Participate in project kick-off meetings and design reviews to ensure technical requirements are communicated and understood by all stakeholders. Support the development of technical specifications, RFPs for specialized contractors, and vendor evaluation criteria.
- Team Development
Conduct training sessions and knowledge-sharing workshops for internal project teams on semiconductor facility requirements. Develop and maintain technical documentation, best practices, and industry insights related to semiconductor facilities. Participate in training and developing JLL team members in semiconductor industry practices and technical standards
Sound like you? Before you apply it’s also worth knowing what we’re looking for:
- 15+ years of hands-on experience in semiconductor manufacturing, process engineering, cleanroom design, or semiconductor facilities management
- Deep understanding of semiconductor fabrication processes (front-end and back-end operations, wafer fabrication, assembly and test)
- Expert knowledge of cleanroom classifications (ISO 14644 standards), contamination control, particle control, and specialized HVAC/utility systems
- Understanding of technical requirements for ultra-pure water systems, chemical distribution, process gas systems, and exhaust treatment
- Familiarity with architectural drawings and semiconductor facility layout concepts
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Mandarin Chinese preferred
- Strong leadership and people management
- Experience working with leading semiconductor manufacturers/ client
- Understanding of global semiconductor supply chain dynamics and fab construction timelines
- Professional certifications related to semiconductor manufacturing, cleanroom design, or facilities engineering
- Experience in construction management or real estate development for high-tech manufacturing facilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools
