Role Description
As a TV Quality Assurance & Test Automation Specialist, you will be responsible for the end-to-end quality assessment of modern TV products and services. You will define quality gates, create test strategies and test plans, and perform both manual and automated testing of TV applications and related platforms. In this role, you will analyze software defects, drive test automation initiatives, and collaborate closely with development, engineering, and product teams to ensure high service and product quality. Your key responsibilities include:
- Defining and measuring quality gates to provide release recommendations for TV applications and firmware versions
- Creating test plans and executing manual tests of core TV product functionalities
- Actively contributing to and enhancing test automation for functional, performance, long-term, and stability testing
- Analyzing, diagnosing, and tracking software defects using logs, monitoring, and analysis tools
- Supporting quality monitoring of TV products and services in production environments
- Defining, implementing, visualizing, and evaluating KPIs for quality measurement
- Continuously optimizing testing processes, quality standards, and tool landscapes
- Collaborating closely with development and product teams on the prioritization and resolution of quality issues
- Working with international TV quality experts and stakeholders across multiple markets
Preferred Qualifications
- Several years of professional experience (minimum 3 years) in IPTV, OTT TV, Video-on-Demand, or similar media environments, with a focus on quality assurance, operations, or troubleshooting
- Strong understanding of end-to-end TV architectures and digital video platforms (iOS, Android, Android TV, Smart TV)
- Experience in designing, implementing, and automating test cases for both functional and non-functional requirements
- Solid understanding of modern web and streaming technologies based on TCP/IP, HTTP, and TLS
- Experience in analyzing complex system and quality-related issues and driving sustainable solutions
- Strong quality mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
- Self-driven, structured, and accountable working style with a high level of initiative
- Technologies and Tools: Witbe, STB Tester, Suitest, Test automation frameworks, Grafana, Nagios, ELK Stack, Kibana, OpenSearch, Charles Proxy, ADB (Android Debug Bridge), Postman
- Wireshark
- Shell scripting
- Basic Linux administration
- Experience testing TV applications on Smart TV platforms
- Basic knowledge of Python or Java with a focus on test automation
