Assistant Project Manager – Stormwater / Public Works Operations
Are you a hands-on leader with experience in stormwater, sewer, or public works operations and a background supervising crews—especially those operating vac trucks? Inframark is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support and lead field operations while growing into a broader management role.
This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with 3–5 years of experience who are ready to step into a leadership position managing crews, operations, and client relationships in a fast-paced public works environment.
What You’ll Do
Lead and support daily field operations for stormwater, sewer, and public works services
Supervise crews, including vac truck operators and CDL drivers, ensuring safe and efficient work execution
Plan, schedule, and assign work; monitor productivity and quality of service
Coach and mentor team members, providing training and performance feedback
Assist in managing budgets, tracking expenses, and identifying cost-saving opportunities
Support capital improvement planning and operational enhancements
Maintain accurate operational records and prepare reports
Partner with clients and leadership to ensure contract compliance and strong relationships
Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
Participate in hiring, performance management, and disciplinary processes
What We’re Looking For
3–5 years of experience in stormwater, sewer, or public works operations
Supervisory or crew lead experience, ideally overseeing field teams or equipment operators
Experience working with or managing vactor/vac truck operations highly preferred
CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) preferred
Valid driver’s license required
Operator license (or ability to obtain) preferred
Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
Experience with scheduling, budgeting, and operational planning
Detail-oriented with solid problem-solving ability
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic reporting tools

Physical Requirements
Work includes a mix of office and field environments. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally is required.
