Job Description
To oversee and manage the contractors’ overall installation activities on behalf of the client, ensuring that wind turbine installation, crane assembly and associated works are carried out safely, efficiently, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Oversee the contractor’s installation works, crane selection, hardstand design finalization, turbine erection, mechanical and electrical assembly of turbine components such as nacelle, hub, blades, yaw/pitch systems, gearbox, bearings etc are installed according to OEM specifications and ensure compliance with contractual and industry standards
Monitor alignment, torqueing, and tensioning of mechanical connections during erection.
Conduct inspections and witness tests of mechanical systems during installation and commissioning.
Support the development and implementation of Contract Management Plans for the relevant contractors
Support and monitor the interface between different contractors
Review and report on technical documentation provided by the contractor and any other supporting documents issued by the contractor/supplier
Review contractor’s Method statements, risk assessments, installation plans, lifting plans, emergency response procedures and any other deliverables necessary for the works and provided by the contractor/supplier
Enforce Client’s HSSE policies and verify contractor’s compliance with regulations
Conduct site audits, inspections, and safety walks.
Track installation progress against schedule and report deviations to the Project Manager.
Provide clear communication between contractor, turbine supplier and their subcontractors as well as client’s stakeholders.
Carry out daily site inspections using the relevant inspection templates from the Document Manage System and ensure upload of all inspection and test information to the project portals.
Identify risks (delays, technical issues, weather impacts) and propose mitigation strategies.
Maintain accurate records of installation activities, deviations, and corrective actions.
Escalate critical issues to senior project management promptly.
Accept work progress on the site
Document mechanical punch lists and ensure corrective actions are completed.
Coordinate with turbine OEMs, logistics providers, and civil contractors to ensure smooth handovers.
Participate in site meetings and ensure client’s requirements are consistently communicated.
Verify As-Built documentation
Perform other tasks as required.
Qualifications & Experience
MSc or BSc Degree in Mechanical Engineering
5+ years of relevant construction engineering experience from wind power projects
Proven experience in wind turbines, handling of cranes and mechanical systems installation
Strong knowledge of turbine erection methods, crane operations, heavy lifting and WTG mechanical components inspections.
Proven track record in contractor management and QA management experience
Good command of English (spoken and written)
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
