Sentara Pace is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a Clinical Secretary.
Position Status: Full Time, M-F, 8am-5pm
Position Location: Norfolk, VA
Pay Range: $17.31- $28.85
We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits.
Responsibilities
- Manage incoming calls, emails, faxes.
- Maintain and coordinate the providers' schedule including appointments and calendar updates.
- Process referrals and coordinate scheduling for outside specialty appointments and diagnostic services.
- Operate and maintain office equipment including fax, copier, scanner, and printer machines.
- Mange patient records, forms, and documentation while maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
- Greet and assist patients, visitors, and vendors courteously and professionally.
- Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information.
- Prepare, organize, and distribute clinic paperwork, reports, and correspondence.
- Communicate effectively with providers, nursing staff, insurance companies, pharmacies, and medical offices.
- Monitor office supplies and submit orders when inventory is low.
- Assist with check in/out procedures
- Other clinic office duties as assigned.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent (required)
Experience
Previous medical office or healthcare experience (highly preferred)
Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and EMR systems.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in a healthcare setting.
Knowledge of medical terminology and referral processes.
