Description

Priory Beverley House is looking to recruit a healthcare assistant to join the team in our Rehabilitation and recovery ward. 

Priory Beverley House, located in Edgbaston, Birmingham, is a level 2 rehabilitation service for females with complex mental health needs, including emotionally unstable personality disorder (EUPD), schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Some may also have a mild learning disability, alcohol and drug use, or a personality disorder.


What you'll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients 
  • Assists qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed to facilitate the wellbeing, dignity and treatment of all patients.
  • Provides practical support and responsive care to patients who require assistance with intimate personal needs such as dressing, bathing and toileting activities ensuring that such activities comply with procedures and the relevant healthcare legislation.
  • Observes and monitors the wellbeing of patients ensuring that any unusual physical, mental or emotional occurrences are promptly referred to senior staff/the primary nurse and documented as appropriate.

What you'll bring to the role

The ideal candidate will be educated to a minimum of NVQ Level 1 or GCSE standard in Mathematics and English and will possess basic IT literacy skills. A strong understanding of the importance of maintaining strict confidentiality is essential. While no previous experience is required, candidates should have excellent observational and listening skills, as the role involves regular interaction with staff, patients, and visitors both in person and over the telephone. The ability to communicate effectively and monitor the mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing of patients is a key aspect of the position.
