Operations Support Specialist – HR & Payroll
We are looking for a dependable, organized, and people-focused Operations Support Specialist to support our branch with payroll, employee relations, onboarding, compliance, and day-to-day HR administration.
This role will serve as a central point of contact for employees who need help understanding payroll, timesheets, per diem, benefit eligibility, incentives, and other employment-related questions. The right person will be approachable, detail-oriented, confidential, and able to follow through without being chased.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a central support contact for employee questions related to payroll, timesheets, per diem, benefits eligibility, 401(k), incentives, and general HR processes
- Review and support accurate timesheet tracking, time and attendance records, per diem calculations, and payroll-related documentation
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, employee paperwork, and new hire coordination
- Track employee incentives, reimbursement requests, eligibility timelines, and required follow-up items
- Coordinate annual reviews, employee follow-ups, DOT physicals, fit testing, and compliance-related scheduling
- Support certified payroll and other required payroll/compliance documentation
- Maintain organized and confidential employee records
- Communicate clearly with employees, management, and corporate support teams
- Help improve follow-through, communication, and consistency across branch employee processes
Ideal Candidate
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable working with payroll, employee records, and confidential information
- Clear, professional, and approachable communication style
- Able to explain payroll and benefit-related questions in a calm, helpful manner
- Highly organized and able to manage deadlines, follow-ups, and multiple priorities
- Proactive, dependable, and willing to take ownership of assigned responsibilities
- Prior payroll, HR, administrative, or office management experience preferred
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1–3 years of administrative, payroll, HR support, or related experience preferred
- Proficiency with computer systems, email, Microsoft Office, and basic data entry
- Construction, trades, or service-industry experience is a plus

Compensation Range
$13.00 - $30.00The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
