Surgery Scheduler
Coastal Health – Orthopedic & Podiatry Practice

Coastal Health is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and compassionate Surgery Scheduler to join our growing Orthopedic and Podiatry team. This position plays a vital role in coordinating surgical procedures and ensuring patients receive excellent care throughout the scheduling process.

Responsibilities

• Schedule surgical procedures for orthopedic and podiatry providers
• Coordinate with hospitals, surgery centers, and vendors
• Obtain prior authorizations and verify insurance requirements
• Communicate surgery dates, pre-op instructions, and paperwork with patients
• Maintain accurate scheduling documentation and patient records
• Coordinate follow-up appointments and post-operative visits
• Answer patient questions and provide exceptional customer service
• Work closely with providers, medical assistants, and front office staff

Qualifications

• Previous medical scheduling or surgery scheduling experience preferred
• Knowledge of orthopedic or podiatry procedures is a plus
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Excellent communication and phone etiquette
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced medical office
• Compassionate, professional, and team-oriented attitude
• Familiarity with EMR systems and insurance verification preferred

• High school diploma or equivalent, Customer service, Oral and Written communication skills, Knowledge of medical terminology, Data entry skills, Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and teamwork.
• 1-3 years experience in a health care setting preferred.
