Are you a social media and digital video native looking for a role with scale, influence, and enterprise-wide impact? This one’s for you.
The Digital Video Strategist plays a critical role in evolving News Corp Australia’s video strategy in response to evolving platforms and audience behaviours.
Sitting within the Platform Content Strategy team, this role focuses on building future-ready skillsets across the organisation, helping upskill teams to adapt to emerging formats and platform-specific storytelling techniques.
While vertical video represents a key growth area, this role is designed to evolve alongside platform changes, ensuring the organisation maximises the value of our content off-platform to serve more Australians, more often. This is a permanent position based in Sydney.
Responsibilities
Digital Video Enablement
Upskill digital video capabilities in teams across our most recognisable News, Sports, Entertainment and Lifestyle brands.
Deliver structured training, coaching, and hands-on support across platform-specific storytelling formats and production workflows.
Help develop scalable learning frameworks and best practice toolkits.
Content Strategy
Support the Head and Senior Manager, Platform Content Strategy in delivering News Corp Australia’s off-platform strategy.
Identify opportunities to optimise content for discovery, engagement, and monetisation across platforms.
Monitor evolving platform ecosystems, audience behaviours, and competitor innovation.
Insights and Governance
Analyse content performance across formats and platforms to identify growth drivers.
Measure the impact of capability initiatives and experimental pilots.
Support optimisation strategies that improve reach, engagement, and monetisation outcomes.
Support enterprise governance of social media channels and workflows.
Who are you?
You're a social media native who moves confidently in evolving landscapes and can collaborate widely across a large organisation. An in-depth understanding of digital video content and social platforms.
4+ years of experience in social content strategy, vertical video, and platform management, ideally within a media or publishing environment.
Proficiency with content production and social media tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Canva, Meta Business Suite, Emplifi, Analytics or AI tools).
Ability to coach and provide hands-on training to our newsrooms and brands, optimising content and workflows in line with the enterprise strategy.
Excellent project management skills.
Experience managing data, reporting, and governance processes across large-scale organisations is advantageous.
