Reports To: Coordinator - Special Education
EMPLOYMENT BEGINS: As soon as possible
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
• To create, develop, and coordinate IEP information with campus personnel to ensure the effectiveness of the ARD process for each campus
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
• Bachelor's Degree/Special Education Certification
Special Knowledge/Skills:
• Demonstrate an understanding of the IEP paperwork
• Demonstrate highly effective organizational skills
• Possess knowledge of the ARD process
• Exhibit effective communication skills and techniques, including verbal, nonverbal, and media communication
• Demonstrate the willingness to follow instructions and maintain compliance timelines
• Knowledge of various computer programs and operations (including but not limited to): Google, Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, district student information system, district special education information system
• Supervisory and management skills
• Follow all special education policies and procedures of MISD
Experience:
• Have at least three years successful experience in teaching field and facilitating ARD meetings
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Administration may find appropriate and acceptable
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Ensure that staff members prep IEP DRAFT copy for Annual ARDs
• Communicate with campus personnel regarding information related to ARD meeting processes
• Seek assistance from others as needed
• Work cooperatively with special education staff to ensure the IEP information is accurate and the student's individual needs are addressed
• Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation
• Perform other duties as assigned.
