Job Summary
Job SummaryHelp create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our patients, visitors, and staff. Environmental Services Technicians play a vital role in preventing the spread of infection by cleaning and disinfecting patient and non-patient areas, properly handling waste, and maintaining a sanitary healthcare environment. This position does not provide direct patient care but is essential to supporting exceptional patient outcomes.

Schedule
1st Shift: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Every other weekend required
Essential Functions
Clean and disinfect patient and non-patient areas according to established schedules and infection prevention standards.
Remove and properly dispose of waste, including regulated medical waste, following hospital policies and procedures.
Maintain assigned areas in a clean, safe, orderly, and sanitary condition at all times.
Move furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed to support department operations.
Operate environmental services equipment, including floor machines, buffers, and other cleaning equipment.
Follow all safety, infection control, and organizational policies and procedures.
Participate in departmental meetings and ongoing training, attending a minimum of eight department meetings annually.
Support a positive patient and visitor experience by ensuring a clean, comfortable, and well-maintained healthcare environment.

High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and how to apply chemicals safely.
- Working knowledge of various cleaning tools like vacuum cleaners and floor buffers.
